1분기 GDP 쇼크.. 韓경제 성장동력 '제조업' 식어간다

1분기 마이너스 성장의 원인이 수출과 설비투자 부진으로 무역분쟁 등에 따른 글로벌 경기둔화 여파가 한국 경제에 먹구름을 몰고 오고 있다는 분석이다. 특히 설비투자가 외환위기 이후 21년 만에 가장 저조해 한국 경제의 주춧돌인 제조업의 성장 엔진이 식고 있다는 우려가 나온다. 24일 한국은행이 발표한 올 1분기 국내 경제성장률은 전분기 대비 -0.3%로 2008년 글로벌 금융위기 이후 최저치를 기록했다. 특히 설비투자는 전분기 대비 10.8% 감소했다. 이같은 최악의 성적표 배경에는 반도체 등 주력품목 수출 감소가 이어지면서 제조업 가동률이 하락하고, 민간투자 부진에도 영향을 끼쳤기 때문이란 분석이다. 근본적으로 한국 제조업의 주력 업종이 반도체·자동차·조선 등 일부 업종에 대한 심각한 편중이 근본 원인이라는 지적이 나온다. 주력 업종의 업황이 타격을 받으면 ‘수출 악화→설비투자 부진→경제성장률 둔화’의 악순환에 빠질 수 밖에 없지만 서비스업 비중 확대 등 산업 재편은 제자리 걸음이다. 성태윤 연세대 경제학부 교수는 “최저임금 인상 등 노동비용 인상이 국내 소비여건 개선보다는 수출 가격경쟁력을 크게 악화시켰다”면서 “기업 입장에서 고용부담과 위험을 증가시켜 투자의 불확실성을 높이고 있다”고 지적했다. 홍남기 부총리 겸 기획재정부장관은 이날 긴급 관계장관회의에서 “우리 경제가 상반기보다 하반기에 더 나아질 것으로 보인다”고 말했다. 한국은행도 올해 연간 성장률 전망치로 제시한 2.5% 달성이 가능하다고 밝혔다. 하지만 이날 환율은 급등하고 주식시장은 하락해 1분기 성장률 쇼크에 대한 시장의 우려를 잠재우기엔 역부족이었다. 이날 서울외환시장에서 원·달러 환율은 전거래일 대비 9.60원 상승한 1160.50원으로 마감해 2017년 1월31일(1162.10원) 이후 2년 3개월 만에 가장 높은 수준을 기록했다. 코스피 지수도 전날 대비 0.48%(10.53포인트) 내린 2190.50에 거래를 마쳤다. 이진철 ()

The Korean International Blockchain Conference was launched Thursday for an eight-day run in the North Korean capital city, according to the report by Radio Free Asia (RFA). North Korean First Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui accused Bolton of saying in a recent interview that the United States needs to see a "real indication" that Pyongyang is ready to give up its nuclear weapons before any third summit between their leaders. Korea replaces top official involved in negotiations with U.S. SEOUL, April 24 (Yonhap) -- A senior North Korean official, who served as Pyongyang's chief interlocutor in talks with the United States, has been replaced as head of a key espionage agency handling inter-Korean affairs, a lawmaker said Wednesday. Kim Yong-chol, chief of the United Front Department, was recently replaced by Jang Kum-chol, Rep. Lee Hye-hoon of the Bareunmirae Party, who leads the National Assembly's Intelligence Committee, said, citing a source from Seoul's spy agency.
